I attended the 2008 outbound trade mission to Miami.
It was a trade mission that exceed my expectations in every regard. The strength of the mission was, that it allowed me to tailor the program to meet my specific needs (and by extension the other participants, whose needs were distinctly dissimilar to mine, did too). I was able to meet suppliers and buyers specific to my industry (some coming in from as far as New York) - The mission even facilitated a visit for me to meet at a research university almost 500 miles away.
The organization and execution of the mission by Global Handshakes was seamless - it was slick and professional, the Miami staff were knowledgeable, accommodating and thorough. On the ground the time lines were met, all the communication facilities were available, transportation and accommodation was excellent.
This recession is the time for businesses to be aggressively engaging the US through missions like this - US suppliers and manufacturers need to move inventory at this time, giving us the opportunity to negotiate favorable prices and terms, and also position our businesses for when the recession clears.
I got value and clear desired outcomes for my money - It was worth every penny.
